International Conference on Extension for Strengthening Agricultural Research and Development
ICAR JSS Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Mysuru, Karnataka, along with ICAR ATARI, Zone – XI, Bengaluru and Extension Education Society (EES), Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, organized the International Conference on Extension for Strengthening Agricultural Research and Development during 14 to 16 December 2019 in Suttur, Mysuru district.
On 14 December 2019, the Conference was inaugurated at 3.00 pm in the Divine Presence of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathree Deshikendra Mahaswamiji of the Jagadguru Sri Veerasimhasana Mahasamsthana Math, Suttur. He thanked ICAR ATARI and EES for joining hands with JSS KVK in organizing the Conference, which also marked the 25th year of the establishment of the JSS KVK. While offering his blessings he expressed concerns about growing disillusionment among farmers, youths losing interest in agriculture and the climate crisis posing serious threat to sustainability of agriculture and expressed hopes that the Conference will bring out recommendations fordealing with these challenges.
Dr. M. Mahadevappa, Director, Rural Development, JSS Mahavidyapeetha, Mysuru, presided over the inaugural function. Dr. A.K. Singh, Deputy Director General (DDG - AE), ICAR, New Delhi, was the Chief Guest who gave the Inaugural Address. Dr. S. Rajendra Prasad, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, UAS, Bengaluru,speaking as the Guest of Honour. Dr. M. J. Chandre Gowda, Organizing Secretary and Director, ICAR ATARI, Bengaluru, welcomed the guests and the delegates. Dr. H.
