Millets Awareness programme

An awareness programme on millets has conducted on 05 Augsut 2021 at Mirle, K.R. Nagar taluk in collaboration with Dept of Agriculture, K.R. Nagar under Under the National Food Security Campaign. Sri. Dhananjaya, Depty Director, Hunsur opined that by consumption of millets, we can manage the BP, sugar and other diseases. Smt. Geetha, President, Mirle Gram Panchayath, Mirle were presided over the function. More than 45 farmres/ farmwomen were participated in the programme.


Training programme for School Teachers

Two days training programme has been conducted during 11-12 August 2021 for Government primary school teachers. Druing the programme importance of agriculture to be taught in school level. Maintenance of kitchen garden, importance of vermicompost, nursery and value addition topics were covered. 30 teachers from Chamarajanagar and Mysuru districts were participated. Seedlings were distributed for palnting the same in their schools.


Improved agricultural practices in millets programme

A online training programme on improved agricultural practices and value addtion in millets programme has been conducted in collaboration with KVK, Gonikoppa, Kodagu. More than 54 Farmers / farm women from Mysuru and Kodagu districts farmres were particiapted in the online programme.


Agriculture and value addtion training programme for tribles

The KVK conducted a training programme on Agricutlure and value addtion at Sollepura Rehabilation Center, Sollepura, H.D Kote Taluk as a part of Azadi ka Amruth Mahahotsav (India @75). More then 35 Farmres/ Farmwomen and students has been participated in the programme.


Awreness proramme on MIllets

An awareness programme on millets has conducted on 17 Augsut 2021 at Sollepura Rehabilation Center, Sollepura, H.D Kote Taluk in collaboration with Dept of Agriculture, H.D. Kote under Under the National Food Security Campaign. Cooking compitition for farm women, drawing compitition for school childern has arranged. More than 70 farmrers/Farmwomen a nd 25 students participated in the event.


Parthenium Awareness Week

ICAR JSS KVK has observed Parthenium awareness week during 17-23 August 2021. The Parthenium Eradication Awareness Program was to be held at the Sollepura Rehabilitation Center in H.D. Kote Taluk. The program was launched by dismantling the Parthenium weed in the premises of the Govt. Primary School at the Sollepura Rehabilitation Center and the village farmer's Farm. Over 35 farmers participated in the program.


Awareness programme on millets

Under the National Food Security Campaign an awareness programme on millets has been conducted in collaboration with Agriculture Department, Nanjangud. The event was held on 31 August 2021 at ICAR JSS Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Suttur. Dr M. Mahantheshappa, Joint Director of Agriculture, Mysore district inaugurated the program. Millets helps in control of diabetes and high blood pressure He said that there are many projects in millets and value addition. Farmers make use of the same. Mrs. Hemavathi Sivakumaraswamy, Chairperson of Suttur Gram Panchayat, Mrs. Mahadevamma Rangaswamy, Chairperson of Biligere Grama Panchayat were in the programme. More than 80 people, including JSS BEd College students, farmer / farmer women, and staff of the KVK participated in the programme.


Celebration of World Coconut Day

As part of World Coconut Day, on 1 September 2021, an online training program on improved farming practices for farmers was conducted. The event was hosted by the KVKs horticultural scientist Dr. G.M. Dr. Vinay and Dr. Bavishya, scientist, Central Horticultural Crops Research Institute in Vithoba, attended as a resource person. About 52 farmers participated in the training.


Vocational training on tailoring

On 1 September 2021, 4 month vocational training program on tailoring was conducted at the Pillahalli village of Mysore Taluk in collaboration with the JSS Janasi Shikshaya Samsthan and Punyabhoomi Trust in Mysore. Twentywomen from Pillahalli village participated in the training.


Seed ball prepartion training programme.

On 03.09.2021 seed ball preparation training programme has been conducted for students of Sri Gurumalleswara High School, S. Hoskote. Mrs. H.V., Senior scientist and head (I/c) opined that prepartion of seed ball in the rainy season, seed can sporut at the right time and protect the environment. There were 35 students and 10 teachers participated in the training.


Dolichos HA4 variety seed production training programme

The training on Dolichos HA-4 variety seed production programme was conducted on 8th September at Arakere village in KR Nagar Taluk, Mysore district. Mrs Divya HV spoke about the importance of germplasm and the importance of breeding HA-4. 35 farmer / farmer women from Arakere village participated in the program.


Value addtion on white millet (ragi) training programme

On 8 September 2021, a training program on the value addition of white millet var. KMR 340 was held in Arakere village, KR Nagar, Mysore district. Smt. Netravati Yettinamani, Scientist (Home Science) gave important features and nutrients available in white ragi and different receipies carried out in white ragi. The event was attended by 30 farmer / farmer women from Arakere village.


Use of Nano urea in Maize

A training program was conducted on use of nano urea and zinc fertilizers in maize cultivation in the Magudilu village of H.D. Kote Talukon 15 September 2021. Shri Shamaraj, Scientsit (Agronomy), spoke about the integrated crop management and the use of nano manure in maize. 35 farmer / farmer women participated in the training.


Nutrition gardening and planting campaign

On 17 September 2021, the Nutrition Gardening and Planting campaign was held at the JSS Residential School Auditorium in Sutturin collaboration with IFFCO, Mysuru. The event was attended by 114 farmer/farm women and 71 adolacent girls. Mrs. Hemavathi Sivakumaraswamy, Chairperson of Suttur Gram Panchayat, and Mrs. Mahadevamma, President of Bilgere Grama Panchayat were present. 100 Vegetable Seeds Kit and 1000 Vegetable seedlings were distributed to Farmer / Farmer Women and adolacent girls.


Drip irrigation and fertigation training programme under Jal Shakthi Abiyan

An awareness program for farmers on water conservation through drip irrigation practices was held on 22 September 2021 under Jal Shakthi Abhiyan activities. The training included Dr. G.M. Vinay, a horticulturist, JSSKVK, Suttur spoke about the importance of drip irrigation and other drip irrigation systems. Sri Rajanna Program Assistant (Soil Science), demonstrated dirp irrigation and fertigation methodology of banana cultivation. 30 farmers participated in the program.


Training programme on pratical agiruclture

In collaboration with ITC, Nanjangud and Outreach Institutions, Mysore a training programme has been conducted on experience in practical agriculture on 22 September 2021 at KVK. Horticultural scientist Dr. Vinay GM informs farmers about the method of planting saplings and fertilizers using protray in vegetable crops. About 30 farmers from Arave village in Hunsur taluk participated in this training program.


Skill training programme for farmwomen

Skill training programme has been conducted in collaboration with Mysore Hand-in-Hand Organization at KVK for farmwomen on 23 September 2021. Dr. G.M. Vinay explained to farmers about vegetable sapling, hydroponics cultivaiton in forage crops and production of low-cost fertilizer. About 25 farm women from Hediyala and Hura village in Nanjangud taluk participated in this training program.


Training programme on Co-4 forage crops

Farmers were trained on new forage breeds CO4 on 23 September 2021. The veterinary scientist, Dr. U.M. Rakshit Raj gave information about the new forage breed Co-4 (Napier) and advantages of the same. Over 28 farmers participated in the program.


Training programme for FPO farmers

Initial training for members and directors of Sri Nanjundeshwara Farmers Producer Company was held on 24 September 2021 at KVK, Suttur. Mrs. Ramapriya, Legal Expert of the Isha Foundation, spoke about the performance of the Farmer Producer Company and the success story of the Vellingeri Ujwan Farmers Manufacturer. In addition, it is the responsibility of the directors, the selection of the right members, the farmers' basic data collection, the motivation of the farmer producer company to do the job well. 15 Members participated in the training.
